Encore!

My Summer story continues but it is not ready to be published here yet, so… I present an encore presentation from last August. I remember Max and the story of the high heels. Enjoy.

“When I officiated Max Inabnit’s memorial service last week three individuals got up to talk about him.
The first was his brother. “Max was 14 years older than me. I remember he got me a pocket knife and taught me how to use it when I was just a little kid,” he said. He was a good big brother.

The second was one of his best friends. “We took a trip to Vegas in our Winnebago and Max was sitting in the co-pilot’s chair. As we stopped at a light on the Strip, Max said, ‘Check out those shoes!’ Those shoes were 6 inch black stiletto high heels worn by a very attractive young lady is a very short black dress that was deeply low cut in front. From then on “check out those shoes” was a special code word.”

Finally his daughter got up and explained, “My dad said I was born with a tail, and I believed him until I was eight years old.” We all laughed as she went on to share stories about her dad.

After all had said their good words I summarized them. “You know what that was, don’t you? The knife, the heels and the tail? That was love. Max loved that little brother, his best friend and his daughter and he gave them parts of him that they will never forget. Love comes in all kinds of shapes and forms, but it always comes to the ones we are with.

Celebrate your love today and give some to all the people around you. It really does make an impact.”

I love you – Bryan
