God Family Business, My Blog’s New Name
I have two lives.
All of my adult life I have been a Christian minister. I also am a Principle at Keller Williams Westland Realty, a licensed real estate broker. These two parts of my life have become intertwined. My blog reflects this.
You can read about my clergy pedigree at http://www.st-pats.com , but I will say here that I have been in Christian ministry all my adult life as hospital chaplain, pastor and parish minister, marriage and family counselor, author and workshop leader, and community leader. Read more at the St-Pats link.
We acquired the Keller Williams franchise in March 2009. Our family has been in the real estate for three generations. Interestingly, Keller William’s motto is “God, family, then business.” I just happen to be deep into the God part.
Keller Williams is careful to be inclusive; it is not a sectarian organization, they emphasis the “spiritual” more than the “religious” in my opinion.
I, on the other hand, am a “Christian” clergyman an unabashed follower of Jesus with an Evangelical/Pentecostal heritage. This does not mean that I am intolerant of others. You have heard the cliché “some of my best friends are ____________ (fill in the blank with someone different)”? Well, in my case it is true. I don’t even think I am better than you are… well… mostly anyway.
Back to my blog; my blog will reflect my real world. I will talk about real estate and wealth building on the one hand and following Jesus into the waters of baptism on the other, AND ON THE THIRD HAND, important family related issues.
I firmly believe in the separation of church and state. Thank God we live in the USA and that we have the First Amendment. I also firmly believe that being a Christian clergyperson and real estate broker are inseparable aspects of my life. I am excited to share these different aspects with you
I love you…who do you know who needs to buy or sell a house today? –
