Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night.

They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.

The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.” – Psalm 1.

Yesterday I had a meeting with Chris Brown; she is part of our church leadership council and director of our Help One program. Help One encourages individuals to help one person every day while our church helps one individual, family or institution each week with some kind of significant assistance. We figure we can help a lot of people in little ways. Chris and I were kicking around mottos and she came up with “Love Your Neighbor, Help One!” Isn’t that great!

Obviously Chris has been meditating on the law of the Lord, especially where it is written, “And love your neighbor as your self.” There is a glow about Chris these days… something good is going on in her life. I don’t think that it is a coincident that she is delighting in the law of the Lord and loving her neighbors.

I want you to happy and blessed, today and everyday. Make it your goal to think God’s thoughts, delight in his laws, and practices loving deeds. Love God with all your heart and your neighbor as your self and be like a tree planted by the stream.
